Default Tales of the woods IV: The rescue (part one)

Sandra was enthusiastic. She couldn’t believe that they were so lucky. After all these months of solitude, not only had she found other humanoid creatures, she was about to meet her fellow Thunderians. “Tim will be thrilled” she thought. She was running as fast as she could. “I can’t wait to tell Tim the good news”.
About an hour later Sandra could see her familiar forest surroundings. She arrived to the hut which had been hers and her son’s home all that time. Sandra knocked the hut’s door. “Open the door, Tim. I have good news”. An uneasy silence dominated inside the hut. “Tim, open up , I said!” Sandra yelled again. She could hear nothing from inside. She started worrying. After knocking down the door using her body weight against it, she quickly scanned all around the hut. There was only one room. Tim was nowhere to be found. Sandra grabbed her communicator. “Come in, Tim! Can you hear me? Answer, please!” Sandra called Tim on the communicator about three times, receiving no answer. “What happened to that boy?” She thought to herself, mad with worry. Things had turned up very badly. “Now I desperately need to meet the Thundercats, to help me find Tim!” Sandra started searching the hut thoroughly to find clues of what could have happened to her son. The only thing she located was Tim’s communicator, broken on the floor, almost hidden behind a wooden box. No wonder why she hadn’t received an answer earlier.
Sandra got out of the hut. She started yelling Tim’s name. The echo of her voice made her feel even more alone and anxious. Sandra was scared to death. She sat on a log as she was trying to control her feelings of terror and worry about her son, Tim. She thought about calling their friend, the tiger. So , Sandra started producing a low growling sound. She kept growling, until the tiger’s figure appeared at the clearing. Sandra asked him about Tim In agony. The tiger informed her that he had seen where Tim had been taken. This piece of information made Sandra both relieved and anxious. “what do you mean by the word “taken” ? Was Tim transported somewhere against his will?” The tiger nodded affirmatively and then Sandra asked him to lead her to Tim. The tiger nodded again and moved forward with Sandra right behind him.
They were running for quite a long time. As they moved on, the landscape was beginning to become more and more stony and full of stagnant water pools. They arrived to a place where a dragon-like structure was dominant. The tiger growled and pointed towards that structure with his head. They both remained hidden. Sandra understood that Tim would be in that place. She didn’t like the looks of it. “This doesn’t look thunderian at all, that’s certain..” she thought. She wondered what kind of creatures dwelled in such a place.
Suddenly Sandra saw somebody moving in front of the building. By focusing better, she saw that it was a simian like humanoid creature. The creature was arguing with another one , which looked like a jackal. Sandra was startled. “Mutants! In all the universe, should I run across Mutants again?” The Mutants were the traditional enemies of the Thunderians. The wars between those two were often disastrous and resulting to heavy loss for both sides. Sandra was well aware of the Mutants’ vicious nature. She was worried about Tim now more , because she knew they would recognize him to be a Thunderian and treat him like one. This meant she had no time to lose. She thanked the tiger for leading her over there and told him that she would continue alone from that point. So the tiger walked away. Sandra started a frantic race towards the Bearbil village. She was running so fast that would make even a cheetah envious. She didn’t remember having ever run so fast in her entire life. She also didn’t remember her son being in such a danger before. Although her common sense instructed her to reserve some strength, she was overwhelmed by her maternal instinct along with her agony for Tim.
When Sandra finally arrived to the Bearbils’ village, she knocked the door of Robearbil’s house. Robearbil answered the door to see a breathless Sandra fall in front of him exhausted of her long run. He called Robearbell to his help and they both put Sandra to lie on a bed. Some time later, Sandra was able to catch her breath and told the two Bearbils what she had seen, concerning Tim. When she described the dragon-like building where Tim probably was, they looked at each other worried. Robearbil went to the adjacent room and opened the radio communicator. He called the Thundercats.
“Lion-p here. I read you Robearbil. What is going on?”
“Lion-o, we need your help. Can you come here fast? The situation is urgent. One of your fellow Thunderians is in trouble!”
“Who? A Thunderian?” Lion-o was stunned. None of the Thundercats had ever met other Thunderians since their landing to Third Earth, so they assumed they were the only survivors from Thundera on this planet. His thoughts were interrupted by Robearbil’s voice.
“A Thunderian woman is here. She claims that her little son was kidnapped by the Mutants and taken to castle Plun-Darr”.
“These are bad news. Tygra and I will be at castle Plun-Darr as fast as we can in the Thundertank. On our way back, we will come at your village.”
“Ok, Lion-o, we will be waiting for you. Good luck!”
“Thanks Robearbil. See you!”
Robearbil turned to Sandra. “ The Thundercats are going to free your son. Have faith!”
“I just hope that they get there on time to rescue Tim!”
