There really ought to be a release of this - I got excited for a moment when I saw a soundtrack listed on amazon, but it looks like it's just the remake, and one modern day soundtrack is much the same as another. On the other hand, maybe the attention it will generate might be enough to make them release the soundtrack to the original. Now that would be good . . .

Cool! I tracked down an old (but still technically new) copy of the soundtrack to "The Legend Of Prince Valiant" about a year ago now (or was it two? I forget). This would be even better.
The great thing about so many 80s and early 90s cartoons was that they all had memorable incidental music (as well as memorable theme tunes!), you could hear just one bit and you knew exactly what show it came from. The good thing about Thundercats was that it made use of full-on orchestral stuff as well as the standard rock section. Defenders Of The Earth did the same, while if I'm not mistaken, Visionaries went one further and dispensed with the rock instruments completely. |

Didn't someone re-create MIDI versions of all of the scores from the original series and post them up here somewhere?
Edit: found it. Check out this thread. Note that the link in the first post no longer work, but they are re-located here: http://www.martinbarreby.com/covers.html
