I don't think Pumyra is manipulative. I just think she's one of those "in the moment" impulsive type characters. She does whatever she thinks to do at that particular point in time without thinking. She's going to need to learn how to think before she acts.

Her mood swings are so extreme in the handful of episodes she's been in that she's either bi-polar or there is something else to her character. At this point it wouldn't surprise me if she was somehow working for Mumm-Ra. She's probably just a victim of inconsistent writing, though.

I totally agree. She hasn't learned how to care about anyone else yet! Which is probably why the Lion-o/Pumyra pairing won't work.

I think there might be something about her, probably Mumm-Ra related.

1. She's a Mumm-Ra agent under cover (which I really doubt),
2. Mumm-Ra is threatening her to kill some Thudnerians if she didn't help him, or
3. As Tygra said, she's the victim of bad writing.

You could also ask yourself - does her personality have to do with her upbringing? In a way that kind of makes me want to connect her with Lisbeth from The Millennium Trilogy - she antisocial, she opens up to one character (but at least tries to associate herself with others), is tough and prepared to defend herself, and she will go to great extremes to get what she wants. It wouldn't be too far fetched if that also meant she had a rough life before then too.

Clearly everything she has been through a lot. Losing her home, becoming enslaved and seeing your people tortured for amusement would make anyone ANGRY but, she's just downright defiant at times. Your free, you're people are free and you're surrounded by those responsible. What's with the defiance? Unstable...scary!!

I think the whole "Mumm-Ra spy/made a deal with Mumm-Ra" thing is just as stupid as shipping her and Bengali. She's obviously just very determined, and has a personality that isn't the same all of the time. She's very passionate about saving the cats and there's nothing wrong with that.

I agree with you. We really don't know much about her back story. And what we do know is what she went thought after the fall of Thundera. And that experience could drastically change someone's personalty. Which would explain for her big mood swings.
