Hot on the heels of the awesome Thundercats Ho! competition I decided I needed a Lion-O to go with my Panthro. When I first got this figure I was quite happy with it but the niggles soon started setting in. The black joints, the super wide shoulders and that dang awful mid torso articulation started to really grate on me. Then I saw Boskoes amazing update and it proved to me this guy can look so much better. A couple days later I was browsing round Toys R Us and they had these movie masters for five quid each. I picked two of the up, Bruce and a Harvey Dent not really knowing what I would do with them. I got home and it hit me, Bruce just had to be Lion-O, I stood them next to each other and bang!! perfect scale match, work began and here's the recipe.
Recipe: Head = 2011 Bandai Lion-O - dremmel to fit Torso = Movie Masters Dark Knight Bruce Wayne Survival suit - fully sculpted armour with twistie ties for the trims to give nice clean edges. Straps over shoulders = 2011 Bandai Lion-O - sanded real thin, I also sculpted the tiny sleeves of his undershirt. Shoulder Armour = 2011 Bandai Lion-O - attached via a twistie tie secured to the pauldron then inserted into a hole drilled in the torso. Arms and hands = 2011 Bandai Lion-O - sanded down black discs and filled all joint holes, no more nasty black bits. Belt = 2011 Bandai Lion-O Crotch and upper legs = Movie Masters Dark Knight Bruce Wayne Survival suit - sculpted over detail on the crotch and sculpted pant folds etc. Slight mod of the knee joints. Lower legs = 2011 Bandai Lion-O - slight mod to fit upper leg pegs, widened holes. Sanded down raised areas around pegs and filled in joint holes. Sculpted lower straps. Weapons = 2011 Bandai Lion-O - drilled out holes in each claw shield so the eye of Thundera is visible whilst the sword is in its holster. Paints = Games Workshop and sealed with superglue and Games Workshop Satin Purity seal. I do plan to do the rest of the cats once I get a hold of the new 6" ones but for now it's back to "the Collection", yup, that means more MOTU. Thanks for looking and I hope you all enjoy my first custom of 2012, Happy New Year everyone!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Astounding!!! This is what the figure should've been like from the beginning. Bandai could use a guy like you... also, good luck on the Devil Priest

Would have saved me a lot of time if they were haha, thanks for the comment
Thankyou very much I agree, a big toy company should be able to do sooo much better, I suppose they're not all bad though because this wouldn't have happened without them. |

Bandai should seriously be taking notes from custom figures like this one.
