anyone else find it extremely odd that the fish people didn't take away their weapons when they tied them up?

The episode seems to be a Moby Dick parrellel with Lion-O. I dig it, no really, I do. I approve of it actually.

Spoiler Warning...

1) I didn't really find the mewing to be cute but I didn't find it obnoxious either. For me, the cutest moments were 1) Wilykat's expression to Kit after Lion-O initially snubbed them and 2) Wilykit's, "Pleeeease?"

2) I love, love, love the lines at the end...

Wilykat: Just so you know, we're not following you.
Wilykit: You're just walking in front of us.

5) Lion-O is obviously distracted and angry, but whoever made the point made a good one - Lion-O was very concerned about the treatment of the lizards, but here are two children alone with no one to look after them with their enemies about and he doesn't think twice about leaving them to fend for themselves? Is Lion-O really that immature?
So true, I liked the mewing a bit more than you I guess but I totally agree on the three best moments of the clip They are really nailing all the right notes on making the kittens so freaking likeable.

Perhaps with the buildup prior to the kittens showing up it will play more naturally within the ep and be one of the key things that makes him snap out of it in that is causing him to act totally unlike himself even turning down two kids. Looking forward to how Tygra and Cheetara deal with this.

I too like the sound of the Ahab-parallel to push Lion-O's first new bit of character development as he deals with the aftermath of losing his dad to Mumm-Ra.

I took the first bit of Lion-O blowing off the kittens as him being focused on their mission and thinking that it was just no place for kids. Like others have pointed out, they weren't in immediate danger like the lizards. I'm sure if the kittens had been injured or looking otherwise vulnerable, he would've been more compassionate.

I was glad to see Tygra stick up for them, though. It shows he's not an all-around jerk. His rivalry with Lion-O just brings out that side in him. Family will do that to you... but in the end, you love 'em just the same.

No. They didn't strike me as being very bright.
