Default ThunderCon 2012 - What do YOU want to see at the show? :-)

First up, thanks to the TCats Lair gang for letting me post this in the new cartoon discussion section. And thanks to them for their assistance on last year's and this year's show.

Sorry I haven't been around. I don't post or log in, I just lurk. With administrating He-Man.org and my comic book work, I'm bad about interacting. Sorry about that!

2011's first year was light on the TCats but it wasn't from a lack of trying. We plan to remedy that this year, and have already started to line up a number of new guests.

I'd also like to hear what all of you would like to see at this year's show. It can be guests, programming, etc. I can't guarantee we'll have whatever you suggest, but your feedback is important to us.

Also, if someone posts before you with an idea or suggestion with which you agree, I'd be most grateful if you give their ideas a thumbs up by saying you'd also like to see what (insert username) suggested. The more popular something or someone is, the more we'll push for it/them at the show if possible.

Thanks so much!

I would like to see some reporting from the event. Maybe I missed it, but I never saw photos or descriptions of all the cool stuff that was on display, talked about, etc.

How about members of Channel Awesome like Doug Walker getting their own panel? He's talked about ThunderCats before and saw the leaked clips of the 2011 reboot which he thought were okay.

On that note, how about live riffs like MST3K style? Especially for both the old and show shows?

EDIT: A reference for those who don't know what I'm talking about.

Recently he name dropped Cheetara in his Star Trek V review.

I'd love to see Peter Newman and Earle Hyman as guests, and of course, Larry Kenney :3

And Lynne Lipton as well as Gerianne Raphael again!

Oh, maybe you can have a workshop on how to draw the ThunderCats and other characters from both shows? I'd love that! I'd be the first in line for it!

ThunderCon are kicking off their 2012 guest list with the attendance of Lynne Lipton!

LYNNE LIPTON

Ms. Lipton is a talented film, stage, screen, and voice actress who worked on the original ThunderCats cartoon series. She brought one of the most popular ThunderCats alive, Cheetara, by providing her voice during the entire series run. In addition to Cheetara, Ms. Lipton also provided the voices for Luna of the Lunatacs, Willa Queen of the Warrior Maidens, Mandora, and Wilykit. More recently Ms. Lipton returned to her roots by once again providing the voice of Cheetara for Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story.

Power-Con/Thunder-Con takes place between 22nd-23rd September 2012 (at the Torrance Marriott South Bay Hotel in Torrance, California)

Wait, you can get a panel for just mentioning ThunderCats?

I just mentioned ThunderCats! Can I have a panel?

I say see if you can get permission to do some episode screenings from the new show. Maybe you can get some of the He-man fans who haven't seen the show yet on board.

Also contests would be cool. Don't know if you had any last time. Could have giveaways or art contests or something and give Thundercats figures or DVDs or other merchandise as prizes.

Well, Doug has talked about ThunderCats before and in a podcast, he admitted to watching the leaked 9 minutes of the new series before it aired. Perhaps with the incdlusion internet celebrities, attendance would be higher than before.

That's possible as after-hours programming Saturday night. We'll be putting out a call for fans who want to help fill up the 7pm to 11pm block. If you know anyone who may want to participate, please let them know to keep an eye out for that.

I agree! We would definitely love to have both companies, for both toy and cartoon previews and to talk about the brand.

We had a cosplay and a fanart contest last year, as well as a trivia panel. There were TCats prizes too.

Thanks to everyone who has posted. Please keep those suggestions coming.
