Allright everyone its been a while since we had an update to the toy section but hopefully this very small update will satisfy your collecting hunger. However I wont spoil the surprise just yet but you guys will have to check it out for yourself. Its been a long time coming well a few months at least and for those who havent seen it before, well check it out for yourself!!!!

1.29.2008 | UK DVD news - Season 2 Part 1 and the Complete Season 1 available to pre-order, with box art!

A while ago we announced that WHV UK would be continuing their Region 2 releases of ThunderCats with Season 2 Part 1, a 6-DVD set largely mirroring the US release of the same name. We also revealed that UK fans who have yet to pick up either of the two season 1 releases of ThunderCats were in for a treat, as WHV UK were planning a special release of the complete first season, complete with an exclusive comic!

As with previous UK releases, these two sets look to be HMV exclusives - and, not only are they are both now available to pre-order, but HMV's website has revealed the box art for these two sets as well!

Season 2 Part 1 follows the theme set by the previous releases, utilising the same colour scheme as the US sets but using a recoloured ThunderCats logo instead of the Lion-O artwork on the US set:



The Complete Season 1 set box art has also been revealed:



Season 2 Part 1 will be released on 14th April and has a pre-order price of £16.99, and the Complete Season 1, which will be released on 18th February, is £36.99, with free delivery to all UK residents! On behalf of all the team involved with www.thundercatslair.org, a very Happy New Year to all ThunderCats fans everywhere! 2008 looks set to be a really exciting year for our favourite felines, with, hopefully, more and more news emerging from the proposed CGI ThunderCats movie planned by Warner Bros.

On the subject of the movie, we suspect that many of you will have heard about the petition we set up a few weeks ago, urging WB to consider Larry Kenney, the voice of Lion-O in the original ThunderCats cartoon series, for the role of Lion-O in the new movie. The response to this has been fantastic, and it is a true testament to the inspirational work that Larry put into the role of Lion-O (as well as his fantastic support and interaction with the online ThunderCats community) that the petition has gathered so many signatures! Earlier today the petition passed the milestone of 250 signatures, which is just incredible! But, needless to say, the more signatures we're able to gather the more chance there is of making this a reality! You can check out the petition here - once again, a massive thank you to everyone who has signed this so far!

Also, on the subject of petitions, a while back we were contacted by Sonia Lai, a ThunderCats fan who has set up a petition of her own, requesting Warner Bros to officially release the soundtrack to the original ThunderCats animated series. The music of ThunderCats is very important to many of the series' fans, and so we thought this was something you guys would want to know about!
