12.24.2007 | Merry Christmas from TCL.org!
Posted by: He-Fan
All the team at www.thundercatslair.org would like to wish all of you who visit and support this site a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - we hope that the holiday season brings you all the things you wish for yourselves.
To celebrate the holidays, we'd like to present a special Christmas update to our Cartoon Section, featuring several goodies that we hope you will enjoy! First of all, we've added a further 6 episodes to our revamped Episode Guide, featuring the usual synopsies, morals, quotes, review and screenshots - check them out here!
Also, we know that many of you have been eagerly awaiting the return of the video clips that we had hosted on the original version of this site. Although we still have a couple still to get back up, we have finally been able to get the majority of these back online! Probably the largest collection of these are the ThunderCats Commercial Bumpers, which now have a page of their own, showcasing bumpers from both the 1980s and also ThunderCats' many appearances on Toonami!
We also have a special article showcasing the famous ThunderCats "Lost Intro" that was a part of both the series' pilot and the home video release of "Exodus". The intro has never been released on DVD, but you can read all about it (and view a videoclip of it) here!
Did you know that Vultureman's voice evolved a lot over the course of the ThunderCats series, even down to the possibility that he may have originally been voiced by a different actor? Read more about this (and check out the soundclips for comparison) here!
Last but by no means least, our resident Cartoon Section writers Chris (He-Fan) and Wacky Martin have together compiled a detailed article with bios for every writer who ever worked on ThunderCats - check this out here. Want to learn which other episodes the author of your favourite episode may have written? No problem - under each bio is a complete list of all the episodes penned by that writer! In addition to this, the header on every page of our Episode Guide has been updated to link to that writer's bio! We are very proud of this article, and hope that you guys will enjoy it!
Once again, a very Happy Christmas to all ThunderFans everywhere, and we look forward to bringing you more exciting stuff in 2008!
12.15.2007 | Jerry O'Flaherty Interview
Posted by: Manny
The guys over at 360 Stylecast had the distinct privilege to speak with Jerry O'Flaherty about his experience working on Gears of War as well as his new role as director of the upcoming ThunderCats movie. In the interview, Jerry reaffirmed that the movie will indeed be in CG and "is different than what else is being done right now."
Additionally, Jerry also reassured fans of the 80s animated series by stating the movie will be:
"...true to the spirit of the old show and I think the fans of the show, everyone who grew up with it and really has a huge love for it, I think they're going to be happy; But obviously we want to gain a new audience as well and so it's going to be very accessible for people who aren't intimately knowledgeable with the show."
Thanks to forum member T-Cat for the heads up on the interview. If you'd like to listen to the interview, head over to 360 StyleCast and download episode 20.
As always, stay tuned for more news!
