According to Variety, Jerry O'Flaherty, art director for the popular video game Gears of War, has been confirmed as the director for the CGI-animated film, ThunderCats. O'Flaherty has never directed a movie before, but has a ton of experience working with computer animation via the video game industry.

The newly appointed director also plans on remaining faithful to the original 1980s animated series, which will definitely make long-time ThunderCats fans rejoice.

With O'Flaherty's experience with video games, could we also see a ThunderCats video game along side the animated film? Definitely looks that way.
